St. Galaktion (Homs) November 5
St. Galaktion (Homs) was born in Homs, was the son of Leukippe and Kleitophon. At eh age of 24 he was forced to marry a pagan woman, Epistimia, whom he baptized. Both agreed to retain virginity and after distributing their property both entered the monastic life. The Governor Secundus imprisoned them, and after many horrible tortures they were beheaded in 252. |
