St. Luke's Junior Team wins Southern California Pan-Orthodox Teen Bible Bowl

With 17 teams total in the competition, St. Luke Church of Garden Grove, California, and St. George Church of Upland, California, represented the Antiochian Archdiocese very well at the Southern California Pan-Orthodox Teen Bible Bowl. This is an annual event which brings together teens from all over the Southern California area and includes the Serbian, OCA, Greek and Antiochian Archdioceses. Teens were tested with questions from the following topics: Psalm 50/51, St. Daniel (chapter 1), St. Matthew (chapter 13), St. John (chapter 3), 1 Corinthians (chapter 8), Life of St. Herman of Alaska, Life of St. Nectarius, Life of St. Thekla, Life of Sts. Marana and Kyra, and "Teaching our Children to Pray the Four Daily Hours". St. Luke's won the Junior Division, and St. Luke's Senior Team placed fourth in the Senior Division.  St. George of Upland had the most participants with 4 teams and placed well in both Divisions.
