His Grace, Bishop JOSEPH's Episcopal Visit to the State of Alaska for the Feast of the Holy Nativity of our Lord
Monday
,  December 26, 2005

On Monday, December 26, Sayidna met with the Parish Council and the St. John School Administrators in the morning.

That evening, the entire parish in Eagle River came together for an all-church dinner to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Very Reverend Harold and Kh. Barbara Dunaway and to show appreciation to the Choir Members.

The evening began with Sayidna arriving with Santa Clause and passing out gifts to all the children of the parish. Following dinner, the attendees were shown a slide show presentation of the life of Father Harold and Kh. Barbara. Then, three of the older members of the parish were asked to speak about their experiences with Father Harold and Kh. Barbara over the years. Sayidna spoke asking every one to follow their example for a Christian marriage.

Next, the children of the parish sang some Christmas carols. Followed by the Cathedral Choir. At the end of their presentation, Sayidna presented certificates and CDs to each of the choir members in recognition of their hard work and dedication to St. John Cathedral.

Everyone went upstairs into the Cathedral where Sayidna presided over the Akathist of Thanksgiving Service. Following the service, Sayidna prayed for Father Harold and Kh. Barbara's 50th Anniversary. Then, Sayidna surprised every one when he presented Father Harold with the Antionian Gold Metal, the highest service award given from the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America.
