Joel Schaefer of St. John the Baptist Church in Post Falls, Idaho is this year's winner of the Antiochian Archdiocese Oratorical Festival! He competed at the Convention in Palm Desert, California against six other competitors who were also the winners in their respective dioceses. Joel's sister, Jordan, competed for our diocese last year. Joel inspiringly addressed the hierarchs, clergy and faithful on this year's convention theme: "Be mindful, O Lord, of those who bear fruit and do good works in Thy holy churches, and who remember the poor." He receives a $1,000 scholarship from His Eminence, Metropolitan PHILIP and will keep the large Oratorical Festival trophy for the next year. Many years and congratulations!
